Hello! Today I am sharing a galaxy background card. I was inspired by the amazing SpaceIL team and Beresheet (Genesis) spacecraft’s journey to the moon. Here is the card:

For the galaxy background, I did some basic Distress Ink blending. The colors that I used were Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves (the combination is quite similar to the one that I used to make this card). For the blending, I used Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool.

After applying the inks to the paper, I added drops of water and then applied Wink of Stella over the entire background, to create a shimmery effect:

For the moon, I used the Simply Stamped – Moon stamp set by Taylored Expressions. I only used two layers of the set – and the effect is really realistic. The inks that I used are Antique Linen Distress Ink and Wet Cement by Hero Arts. I then used Wink of Stella over it, to make it shine 🙂

For the sentiment, I used one of the sentiments in the stamp set, that says “Howl at the Moon”. I heat embossed it with a silver embossing powder over a piece of black cardstock.

To finish the card, I trimmed the edges of the background, and adhered it on a black card base. Here is another photo of the finished card – you can really see the shimmer :
