Hello! Today I’m sharing a quick tutorial for a peek-a-boo tent card. It is very easy to make, and the result is fun and elegant!
I saw this great tutorial by Donemark Papercrafts, and had to try and make one myself! For my card, I used the beautiful Portrait of a Lady DSP by Graphic 45. I usually don’t make vintage cards, but I have my moments 🙂
To make your own peek-a-boo tent card, you’ll need:
- 1 piece of paper, of size 8 x 8″ for the card base;
- 2 pieces of DSP, of size 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 ” ;
- a matching easel “mechanism” and an embellishment for the easel front
First, score the 8 x 8 piece of paper at 4″ on each side:
Then, cut one of the score lines up to the meeting point of the two score lines:
Next, score diagonally each of the top two squares – from the 4″ mark to the horizontal score line. (Sorry, no photo of this step…)
Burnish each score line with a bone folder, and bring one of the “free” squares on top of the other. Because the folds were burnished, the card magically stands!
Note: there is no need to adhere the bottom squares to each other! This allows us to fold the card into a flat position and put it in an envelope. Genius, isn’t it?
Cut one of the DSP squares diagonally, and adhere the pieces to the card:
Finally, adhere the easel to the card base – and that’s it, our card is ready!
Here are some more photos of the finished card. I really like the dimension!
