Hi there! It’s been a little while since my last post, but I’m back! This time I’m sharing a bunch of 38 cards there were made using an entire 6×6 paper pad!
My inspiration for this project came from this blog post by Kristie Marcotte. She’s sharing tons of tutorials for using entire 6×6 paper pads, and I highly recommend heading over to her blog! In her post she used 2 different sketches to make 56 (!) cards. One of them was this sketch by Operation Write Home:
I decided to use this sketch with the beautiful paper pad “Springtime” by Mintay Papers. This pad is very pretty with many floral and leaves patters, so it matched perfectly what I was going for.
First I made the base for all of the cards – the white panels with two wide stripes of paper. Then, I made three different card designs. The first design is actually the sketch 🙂 Here are the cards (13 overall) there were made first… As you can see, each card is unique:
I really like the sketch, because it’s very versatile and can be used with many different styles.
The second design doesn’t have the front panel as the focal point. Instead, its focal point is on the right side of the card, to add more interest to it. Here are the cards with this design (14 overall):
The third design is the “simplest”, and I used it to make three cards. I just added the sentiment to the bottom panel:
After I finished making the 30 cards, I still had many thin (1″ and 3/4″) scraps of the different designs. Of course, I couldn’t throw them away… so I came up with 8 more cards:
The sentiments on all of the cards are saying “Happy New Year” and “Happy Holidays” in Hebrew. In order to save time, I used stickers by Yael Yaniv and Netanella instead of stamping the sentiments. Some of the stickers have foil, and they shine beautifully!!
Here are some close-ups of my favorite cards:
