Hi! I’m back with another tutorial for a super quick and easy fun-fold card. This one really is one of the quickest fun-fold techniques, and totally worth a try!
Here is what the card looks like:
Cool, huh? 🙂 AND it’s really easy to make, so let’s get to it!
Materials
11″ x 4.25 ” piece of cardstock for the card base (I used American Crafts Pastels paper pack)
4″ x 4.25″ piece of white cardstock for the inside of the card
4.25″ x 4″ piece of patterned paper
4″ x 0.75″ piece of patterned paper (I recommend using a different pattern from the previous piece)
Photo Tutorial
Important note: the annotation of the card is right to left, meaning it opens to the right. If you want your card to open to the left, you can follow the tutorial as is, and simply make sure to flip the card over and adhere the DSP accordingly 🙂
Start by scoring the card base piece at 5.5″ and at 6.5″ (along the long edge):
Fold “inside” the 5.5″ score line, and then score the 6.5″ score line at the opposite direction. This is the exact same fold you use when you make z-fold cards:
(as you can see, I forgot to take a photo of this step with the yellow card base, so I took a photo of the teal one instead 🙂 )
Next, apply (generously!) a double-sided tape on the 1″ strip between the folds:
Then, fold the middle fold again, and attach the strip to the back of the card:
Finally, add the DSP pieces to the card front, and the white cardstock piece on the inside, and you’re done!
For more interest, I added greeting stickers by Tea&Soda. The greeting says “Happy New Year” in Hebrew.
Close-up Time!
This technique is so easy, that in a very short time I have made about 30 of these cards. Below are some photos of them:
The next two cards are exactly the same, except for the card base. Which one is your favorite?
Here are some photos from a different angle:
I’m submitting to Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper October 2019 challenge. Wish me luck! 🙂
