Hi everyone! I’m all about shiny backgrounds in the past couple of days. In this post, I am showing a shiny pink alcohol ink background card that I made for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
The theme of this week’s challenge is “All Things Pink”, as October is the breast cancer awareness month. If you haven’t done so already, please make an appointment to make sure everything is okay!
Here is my card for the challenge:
And here is the card front:
I used Tim Holtz Silver Kraftstock paper. The shine of this paper is amazing! I am usually not into shimmer/glitter/shine, but these papers made me change my mind 🙂 Because it is near to impossible to capture the shine in photos, I also filmed the card:
For the background, I used Ranger Alcohol Inks in pink and red – Wild Plum, Raspberry, Flamingo and Watermelon. It’s been a while since the last time I used my alcohol inks, and it was so much fun to use them again!
The background is very bright, so I decided to add a large sentiment and add tiny white Nuvo Drops. I heat embossed the sentiment twice with fine white embossing powder. The stamp is the main image from “Birthday Wishes” set by Mama Elephant:
Something that I noticed once the white Nuvo drops were dry, is that they became pinkish. I’m guessing the alcohol inks somehow “bled” into the drops. I actually like it, because I think it gives a more cohesive look to the card.
That’s all for today, but stay tuned, because I was on an alcohol inks backgrounds frenzy this weekend 🙂 Many more cards and techniques to be posted soon!
I do love to read your comments! Also, if you want to see updates about new posts, please like my Facebook page (and configure it to See First), or follow me on Pinterest.
