Hi there! Just hopping to post a spooky orange moon card for The Color Throwdown #566 and for Simonsaysstamp Monday Challenge!
Below is this week’s color scheme at The Color Throwdown:
This week’s theme at Simonsaysstamp is “Spooky“, so I thought a combination of the two would be nice!
Here is my “spooky orange moon card”:
For the background, I used a home-made clouds stencil. It’s super easy to make – simply draw your own clouds pattern and then fussy cut. The ink is Charcoal by Hero Arts – just a perfect shade of grey! I used the same ink for the sky and the edges of the panel. I like the texture of the blended sky.
The sentiment is from Tim Holtz’ “Curious Possibilities” stamp set. It’s one of my old favorites 🙂
I used the amazing “Simply Stamped – Moon” stamp set by Taylored Expressions to create the moon. In order to achieve the spooky moon effect that I was going for, I used Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, and Hero Arts Charcoal Ink again. Look how realistic it looks!
