Hello! I’m back today with three different umbrella cards, that I made with almost the same products! I will also share some tips for paper piecing on this post 🙂

In all of my cards, I used the beautiful large stamp from the Follow the Rainbows stamp set by Simonsaysstamp. This set came with one of the monthly kits, and I used some of the sentiments from it in the past. But this time, I used the large stamp for the first time – and it’s gorgeous!! 😍😍

As I said, I made three cards, with very different styles and umbrellas.

Rainbow Umbrella Card

The first card is probably my favorite, because of the contrast between the rainbow colors of the umbrella and the grey clouds on the background:

Here’s a closer look on the umbrella and the skirt. I added a black Nuvo drop in the center, for a little dimension:

Color Challenges

The next two cards were inspired by color challenges.

First, this week’s color scheme at Color Throwdown:

And here’s my card. I really like the gradient of colors, from purple-pink to light blue:

My third (and final) card matches this week’s color scheme at CAS Colors & Sketches:

I just LOVE the paper piecing on this one, so stylish 😎 I used pretty pattern papers by Dovecraft:

Some Paper Piecing Tips

1. I do paper piecing when the images are easy to fussy cut. If it’s too complicated, it’s not for me 🙂

2. Choose papers that work together nicely. Usually, papers from the same paper pad will work well together.

3. Try to mix subtle pattern papers with bolder ones, in order to create a balanced look that’s not too noisy.
