Hi!! I’m back today with cards that have alcohol ink smooshing backgrounds!
The amazing Mindy Eggen posted a great tutorial on her youtube channel, and I just had to try it!! It’s super easy and fun, I really recommend trying it! 🙂
I created a bunch of backgrounds with my Ranger Alcohol Pearls, and then started turning them into cards. Because the colors on the backgrounds were so vibrant, I kept the rest of the cards relatively simple.
Orange, Pink & Purple
For my first card, I used a combination of orange, pink and purple:
To finish the card, I heat embossed in gold the large “hello” stamp from the Friendly Hello stamp set by Concord & 9th. The “friend” stamp is from this set too. I received this set as a gift with one of my last orders from Concord & 9th, and I really like it 🙂
In this photo you can better see the amazing shine of the Alcohol Pearls:
Yellow, Light Green & Teal
After the orange, pink and purple color combination, I tried another one. This time, I chose this week’s color scheme at the Color Throwdown challenge:
Here’s my card:
I really like the blending of the colors on the background 😍
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Grand Greetings Mini stamp set by Gina K. Designs, and then added three clear sequins to create a triangle around it.
Again, here’s another photo from a different angle, to catch the shine:
A Different Layout
For my next card, I wanted to try a different layout. So I chose a fun sketch with four squares, and created this card:
I shares this card on my previous post, along with other cards that I made for an awesome sketch challenge 🙂
This alcohol ink smooshing technique is so much fun!! I still have many backgrounds, but I’m going to save them for a future posts 😎 So, that’s it for today!
