Hi! Today I’m showing a fun and easy technique – triple time stenciling! 🙂
Exactly two years ago I shared a quick tutorial for triple time stamping. This is an old and well-known technique, and the results are always beautiful.
So today I decided to try the same idea with stencils instead of stamps! I’m calling this technique “triple time stenciling” 🙂
The process is pretty much the same as in triple time stamping, so I won’t do a full tutorial. If you’re not familiar with the technique, head over to my tutorial and then come back here.
For my card, I used the A Little Love stencil bundle by Gina K. Designs. This set is definitely a favorite, and I used it only two weeks ago in this post.
This time, I wanted to use different colors, so I chose Kitsch Flamingo, Tattered Rose and Rustic Wilderness distress oxide inks. Here’s a photo of the complete background after stenciling and adding the matting layers:
I love the transitions between the different layers!
And here’s the finished card:
I decided to use the large love die from the bundle. In order to make the word match the background perfectly, I applied Tattered Rose distress oxide ink on white paper, and then die cut it.
Because the background is so colorful, I wanted the word stand out more. So I used the matching shadow die over vellum:
Card Challenges
I’m submitting my card to the Monthly Mix challenge at Gina K. Designs blog. The theme is “Die-Cut Sentiments” 🙂
I’m also submitting it to Color Throwdown. Here’s this week’s color scheme:
And that’s all for today! I hope you liked my card and that you’ll try the triple time stenciling technique.
