Hello there! I’m back today with a card with sunset background, that I created for two fun card challenges!

Card challenges are really fun, and I always find them inspiring. 🙂 Combining different challenges adds another twist to the original challenges, and I really enjoy doing that, too.

The current color duo at the Color Hues challenge reminded me of sunset:

I thought the idea of a sunset background would go perfectly with this week’s sketch at Inspired By challenge:

So here is my card:

I used Purple Tape to mask some parts of my background. Then, I added a small circle mask, and did some ink blending. I used Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire and Fired Brick distress oxide inks.

To finish the card, I stamped the large floral stamp from the Natural Silhouettes stamp set by Gina K. Designs. This stamp works great on inky backgrounds! You can find another example here. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

I really love the sunset background on this card, and especially the area around the setting sun:
