Hello! I’m sharing today a card that I made for a dear friend of mine, who’s going through a difficult time. The message on the card is “I’m here for you, rain or shine”. ❤️

The colors of 2021 at Pantone are yellow and gray, and they inspired this week’s color challenge at CAS Colors and Sketches:

This color combination reminds me of sun and clouds. And then, I thought of this week’s sketch at Global Design Project:

So I made this card!

I used two stencils and some masking to make it.

First, I created the cloud, using the Clouds for Days stencil from Simon Says Stamp and Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink.

Then, I fussy cut a mask for the cloud, and added the sun rays using the Radiating Rays stencil by My Favorite Things. Finally, I filled the sun. I used Fossilized Amber distress oxide ink for this part.

To finish the card, I stamped the beautiful sentiment “I’m here for you, rain or shine” on the cloud. This stamp is part of the Follow the Rainbows stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I used the large image from the stamp set a few months ago to create a fun card series, that you can find here.

And finally, I adhered the panel to a light gray card base. 🙂

I hope my friend will find some encouragement from this card, but most of all I hope she’ll be fine soon ❤️
