Hello! I’m back today with a quick birthday card, with a cake and candle.

This week’s cheerful color combo at Color Throwdown reminded me immediately of a birthday cake, so I knew that’s what I wanted to be on my card:

That idea also matched this week’s theme at Global Design Project – birthday:

Here’s my card:

For the focal point, I used the birthday cake stamp from the Birthday Blueprint stamp set from Tim Holtz & Stampers Anonymous. This set has beautiful large images for birthday cards, and I used the party hat stamp many times in the past, for example in this post.

I colored the image with Distress Markers, and then stamped the sentiment from the Simple Sayings stamp set.

Finally, I added some shimmer on the cake icing with my Wink of Stella shimmer pen:
