Hi! I’m back today with a birthday card that features the Chunky Happy dies. I’ve had this die set for so long, and finally got to using it!
First of all, here’s my card:
Now, let’s talk a bit about the process of making it.
I was totally inspired by this week’s color combination at the Color Throwdown challenge. It’s just SO good!! 🤩🤩
As you know, I’m all into ink blending lately (well, not just lately 😂), and I thought these colors would look great on a blended background. So I created this background:
The distress oxide inks that I used are Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina and Speckled Egg. (The Speckled egg is a pretty bluish gray color, although in the photo it looks mostly gray.)
Then, I die cut the shadow word using the Chunky Happy die set from Simon Says Stamp. This set also has the inner word die, and I used it three times to cut the delicate white word frame:
To finish the card, I stamped the long birthday stamp from All the Birthdays stamp set from Concord & 9th. I think the length of the word “birthday” matches the big chunky happy very nicely on this card 🙂
Finally, I added three Nuvo Drops in matching colors, and my card was ready! Here it is again:

Enjoy your weekend ❤️
