Hello! Today I’m sharing a new card, with a galaxy background in purple and teal colors. I love this color combination! 🙂
The current color scheme at the Color Hues challenge is Purple and Teal:
Teal is one of my favorite colors, and I use it often on my cards 🥰. However, although I love purple, I don’t use it very often, so this challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to use it!
I wanted to make a galaxy card. About a month ago, Yana Smakula shared the most amazing galaxy cards and I wanted to try to make one too. Of course, I had no chance of making anything close to what she made, but still 🙂
Here’s my card:
The distress oxide inks that I used are Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Black Soot. I wanted the colors to “move” more, so I did the blending on Distress Watercolor Paper.
Once my background was ready, I heat embossed the beautiful saying – “Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder”. I just love this saying! ❤️ The stamp is from an old mixed media set by Tim Holtz & Stampers Anonymous. I think the gold looks great on this:
To finish my card, I used the Snowfall stencil from Gina K. Designs, and added many golden stars. In retrospective I think white dots might have looked better, but I like the gold too 🙂
This color combination was fun! I’m hoping to make another purple and teal card before the challenge is over, maybe even another galaxy?…
Thanks for stopping by today! If you want to see updates about new posts, please follow me on Instagram or Pinterest.
Have a beautiful Sunday! ❤️

Perfect color combo for your galaxy BG! A beautiful card!
Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
Thank you! 😊
The current colours work great as a galaxy background, you get additional colours where they blend! The gold looks great, I agree with Bonnie that white may have been too stark.
Thanks for linking up at Color Hues. 🙂
Thank you! 😊
We are neighbors in the gallery at Color Hues so I wanted to drop by and say Hi Neighbor. I really like your gold stars, white would have been too stark.
Thank you!! 😊 I really appreciate your feedback 🙏🏼
