Hi! I’m back today with a quick post with my balloons card for this week’s sketch challenge at Cards Colours & Sketches.
Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:
First, I masked the horizontal strip and applied Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink.
Then, I used the Big Balloons stencil from My Favorite Things with distress oxide inks to add the balloons. The colors blended too well and were less clear, so I traced the balloons with a black Sharpie marker. The tracing wasn’t perfect, but I think it saved the card 🙂
The sentiment is from an old stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. I used it a couple of times in the past, and you can find an example here.
To finish my card, I added sequins in matching colors to the balloons, and I also used my white gel pen on each balloon for the “shine”:
I really like how this card turned out 🙂 I hope you liked it too, please leave me a comment if you did like it!
Thank you for stopping by today!

I can almost hear those balloons squeaking Michal – they look so shiny and translucent! Thank you for coming to play with us at CAS Colours and Sketches this week! Vicky x
Thank you! 😊
I love this Michal – the balloons overlap perfectly and a great idea to softly sponge the horizontal panel in soft grey. Fabulous! Thanks for sharing over at CAS C&S this week!
Thank you! 😊
The black outline certainly makes your balloons pop off the page. Wonderful interpretation of our sketch. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the CC&S challenge blog this week!
Thank you! 😊
