Hi! I’m very excited about today’s post. I’m sharing an alcohol ink card that I made for the Love Wins Instagram hop, to show support for the LGBTQIA community!
First of all, here’s my card:
Now, let’s talk a bit about how I made it.
I wanted my card to be bold, graphic and very bright, to match the rainbow colors. So, alcohol inks were the obvious choice! 🤩
About two weeks ago, I saw an amazing technique for making alcohol ink backgrounds with a… salad spinner! I know it sounds weird, but it’s super easy and the results are so unique! You can find a tutorial on Karen Dunbrook’s blog.
I used that technique to create my background on white yupo paper:
The background was so vibrant, and I wanted the message to be bold and graphic, to match it.
So, I used the Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Shadow Upper dies from Sizzix to cut the saying “love is love” in black. I kept only the shadows, and added them to the background.
I love the different looks of the word “love” on the top and the bottom of the card, with the different alcohol ink colors:
Finally, I added the panel on a black A2 card base. Here’s the finished card again:
I hope you liked my card and that you’ll join the IG hop! Click here to find all the details on my IG account! 🙂
And that’s all for today, share the love and remember – love is love, and it’s a wonderful thing 🌈🌈🌈
