Hello! I’m back today with a birthday card that I made for my boss, in turquoise & aqua colors.
About three weeks ago, Tim Holtz shared his new release with Stampers Anonymous and Ranger Ink. The release included amazing new stamp sets, and of course I had to order three of them on the spot! 🤩🤩 My order has finally arrived last week, and I couldn’t wait to play with the new stamps and inks.
Luckily, it’s my boss’s birthday on Tuesday, so it was the perfect excuse to make a new birthday card!
Now, let’s talk a bit about how I made this card 🙂
I wanted the background to be in my boss’s favorite colors – turquoise, aqua, etc., cause it’s his birthday card. So, I first blended Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina and Broken China:
(Sorry for the messy background!! 😅 It was very late and I was too tired to clean up my desk)
Then, I stamped the target stamp from the Inquisitive stamp set a few times with white pigment ink. I stamped quite freely, to create an interesting pattern:
I used my heat gun to dry the background and the white ink completely, and then I stamped the large birthday greeting from the Bold Sayings stamp set with Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
To finish my card front, I trimmed it and added a black matting layer, and then adhered the panel to an A2 top-folding card.
I really like how the blended background turned out, this combination of distress oxide inks is certainly a new favorite!
Just for fun, I stamped one of the inquisitors and sayings from the Inquisitive stamp set on the inside of the card:
Isn’t it hilarious?! 😂😂 I really hope my boss will appreciate the joke…
I’m submitting this card to Simonsaysstamp Wednesday Challenge – Emboss It.
And that’s all for today, thank you for stopping by. If you want to see updates about new posts, please follow me on Instagram or Pinterest.
