Hi! A few months ago, I was playing with the cut up stamping technique and made a couple of cards. It’s a fun technique and you can create many different looks with it!
May challenge at Share Handmade Kindness Facebook group was about cut up stamping. It’s a fun technique, and Jennifer McGuire’s tutorial shows many examples and tips, as usual 🙂
I made a couple of cards, in different styles. I even tried this technique with stencils instead of stamps!
Distress Ink Watercolor Smooshing Card
First, I took an old distress watercolor background that I made a while ago. I thought it would be fun to use the same large floral stamp that I used on these cards:
I stamped it on my panel, and then cut it to four squares. It creates a totally different look:
The beautiful cursive sentiment stamp is from the Whatnot Stamp Set Five by Your Next Stamp. I love the size of it – it fills the space under the squares very nicely.
Cut Up Stenciling
After making the first card with cut up stamping, I tried cut up stenciling!
I used (yes, again) the A Little Love stencil bundle by Gina K. Designs with white pigment ink over black cardstock. This is a totally different look from the looks I created with these stencils before, and I love it!
I added the panels on Simon Says Stamp Fog Gray cardstock, and stamped the large sentiment from the Grand Greetings stamp set by Gina K. Designs. Here’s the complete card:
