Hello! It’s time for a new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, and today we have a fun sketch for you to play with 🙂 I’ve made a turquoise butterfly card with the MFT More Brilliant Butterflies stamp set.

Here’s the sketch the Yoonyoung has made for us this week:
Believe it or not, the thing I wanted to create when I saw the sketch was a Minnie Mouse card! The oval shapes reminded me of her cute red head ribbon 😂😂 But I don’t have any Disney stamps, and I can’t draw anything on my own, so I had to find another idea…
I thought a butterfly would match the general shape of the ovals, so I used my all-new More Brilliant Butterflies stamp set from My Favorite Things. I loved (and still love) the original Brilliant Butterflies stamp set, and I’ve used it many times in the past. 🥰 You can find my older posts with that stamp set here.
So, here’s the card that I made!
I decided to make my card with different shades of turquoise. After stamping the butterfly, I added a tiny sentiment from the Reverse Happy Sentiment Strips from Simon Says Stamp. I added thin strips of foam tape underneath, for some dimension:
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you’ll join our new challenge 🙂

Wow! I love this minimalist card! This sketchy butterfly is gorgeous, Michal. It makes such a clever take on the sketch!
Thank you so much Cecile! 🙂
Michal I love that stylised butterfly – the layering is so elegant! I’m glad you didn’t make it a red one though – I am now having serious Minnie Mouse vibes too from this sketch!!
LOL 😂 Once you see it, you can’t unsee it, right?! Thank you so much Joanne!
Taking the butterfly is a bright idea!! Nice take on the sketch!!!
Thank you Yoonyoung! 🙂
