About a year ago, Mindy Eggen shared a tutorial for alcohol ink smooshing on her YouTube channel. I was so inspired by her tutorial, that I made a bunch of backgrounds, but I haven’t got to turning them into cards, and just kept them in my stash ๐
Then, two or three weeks ago I cleaned up my craft room and came across those backgrounds – and my creative wheels started turning ๐ I have just got my new Cocktails Blueprint stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous, and I thought the cocktail stamps would work great with the alcohol ink backgrounds.
I’ve made two cocktails – Margarita and Martini:
Margarita
First I stamped the Margarita blueprint and then I added the sentiment with the Worn Text stamp set. I just love the way the alcohol inks look with that Margarita glass:
Martini
For the Martini card, I used a cooler color palette and a different layout:
This time for the sentiment, I used the Celebration Words Scrip Thinlits and added Glossy Accents on top:
I love how these cards turned out! ๐ I find the idea of using alcohol inks with cocktails to be quite funny ๐
I’m submitting my cards to the current Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp – Food/Drink.
