Hello! Today I’m sharing my card for the Peach and Gray challenge at Color Hues. I created a silhouette card with stripes on the background. 🦓

The soft and pretty color combination inspired me to use the Brushed Stripe stamp set from Concord & 9th. The gorgeous stripes background stamp is really cool, so I decided to use it with my new Saltwater Taffy distress ink 😍 For extra texture on the stripes, I swiped the ink pad across the stamp, instead of the usual “tapping”. I really love the result!

Once the background was dry, I stamped the large floral image from the Friendly Silhouettes stamp set from Gina K. Designs. I stamped it in gray and then in black, to create a shadow effect:

To finish my card, I stamped a tiny sentiment from Simon Says Stamp, and added a few clear drops.

I really like the illusion of dimension on this card, it’s almost as if the black flowers are as high as the drops! So cool, and totally unexpected 😎

One final thought – I probably would never have thought about using peach and gray on a card, if it wasn’t for the Color Hues challenge. I’m so happy I tried this color combo, I think it looks great with the silhouette stamp. That’s why I love challenges – they always make me try new things and expand my creative “walls” ❤️
