Hi there! Happy Tuesday! It’s time for a new sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. I’m also joining the current challenge at Color Hues! I created a one-layer friendship card in blue and purple for both challenges.

Here’s the beautiful sketch we have this week:
The sketch reminded me of a trio of cards that I made five months ago: (click on the photo to see that post!)
This time, I wanted to go for a different look entirely. Here’s my card:
I wanted to join the beautiful tribute challenge at Color Hues, to honor Lindsey, who passed away. ❤️💔 The challenge was to create “Lindsey Inspired” projects, that include the colors Blue and Purple, and also one or more of Lindsey’s favorite things. I chose “flowers” and “friendship”, because I thought they really capture the idea of the challenge.
To create the colorful frame, I masked the edges of my card base, and then blended Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet distress oxide inks (the perfect blue and purple 💙💜). Then, I stamped the bold friendship sentiment from the Bold Sayings stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous. I didn’t plan for it to fit so nicely into the blended background, and was so happy that it did! 🙂
Instead of a butterfly, I stamped a floral silhouette from the Wildflowers stamp set (an old favorite!):
And that’s all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by. For updates about new posts, please follow me on Instagram and Pinterest.
Happy Tuesday! ❤️
