Hello everyone! ๐ Today I’m sharing a fun card for Valentine’s Day, in untraditional colors and with two adorable loving fish โค๏ธ๐๐

At the beginning of the month I was part of the design team of a color challenge at one of the crafty FB groups. There were three different color combinations, and the challenge was to create a card with each of them. My favorite color combination of the three was – naturally – the one that I suggested ๐ It was turquoise/teal, light blue and dark blue.
I decided to use these colors and create a Valentine’s Day card!
For the background, I used Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans distress oxide inks. After blending the inks, I used the Color Wave Cover-Up die from My Favorite Things, to cut the waves. I assembled the waves on a piece of white cardstock, and my background was ready ๐
Then, I heat embossed a sentiment from the sweet Happy Hearts stamp set by Gina K. Designs. I used silver embossing powder, because I wanted the sentiment to match the silver fish.
For the adorable fish, I used an old die by Tanya Sol, that cuts all kinds of cute little fishes. I chose two fish and positioned them facing each other like a loving couple ๐ Then, I added a few small hearts instead of bubbles:
Finally, I added a few more cardstock layers behind the background, for some extra dimension, and added the panel to my card front.
It’s super hard to capture the shine of all the silver elements, so here’s another photo from a different angle:
I kinda like the idea of a Valentine’s Day card that’s not pink and red with lots of hearts and kisses… Those loving fish are adorable, don’t you think? ๐ฅฐ
