Hi! I’m excited to share a couple of cards (and backgrounds) that I created with the new Victorian Garden Foliage die set from Spellbinders, that’s part from the March 2023 release!

The new Victorian Garden collection is so pretty, and has many die sets that work together beautifully. In this post, I’ll show you a fun way to use the Victorian Garden Foliage set “alone”, to create beautiful leafy backgrounds 🙂
When I first looked at the die set I noticed that the big leaves can fill a card background nicely. So I die cut some leaves in different colors, and used them to create some backgrounds.
Winter Greetings Card
For this winter card I used a “cold” partial rainbow order. I added a silver sentiment to match and lots of clear gems in the empty spaces.
Happy Birthday Card
As you can see, this time I used warmer colors. First I arranged the leaves on the background, and then I added the vellum panel with the sentiment. The colors of the leaves are perfect for fall cards too!
It’s sometimes tricky to make the sentiment stand out against the background, but using metallic cardstock or vellum is a great way to help your sentiment stand out. I hope these two ideas will inspire you to give them a try. 🙂
