Hello! I’m sharing today a Halloween card with a classic theme – cat and moon ๐โโฌ๐

The new color combination at Color Hues just screams “Halloween!!!”…
So I figured, if there’s “Christmas in July”, why not have “Halloween in May”?… By the way, did you know that originally, Halloween was celebrated in May?? I’ve only just found out when I googled “Halloween in May” to see if that’s a thing!
Here’s the card that I made:
I started by making the moon, using a “negative” circle mask. The colors that I used are a random mix of orange distress oxide inks (just the colors that I already had on my blending brush). Also, I kept the blending uneven, to match the “unevenness” of the moon surface.
Then, I masked off the circle, and blended just a little orange around it, for the halo. I then used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot distress oxide inks to create the night sky.
The gorgeous cat is from the Tim Holtz Mischievous die set. This set is quickly becoming one of my favorites – click here to find two more cards with it โค๏ธ
Finally, I added the sentiment from the Happy Everything stamp set by Lawn Fawn.
As you can see, the masking of the circle wasn’t perfectly positioned… But the cat looks so good against the moon, and I love how the Halloween vibe on this card.

Happy Friday! โค๏ธ

Thanks so much Tracey! ๐
Such a fun card, Michal! That cat is terrific so it’s understandable why you’ve featured her on more than one card. Love the moon glow against the spooky gray sky! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Color Hues!
Thanks so much Stef! ๐
Michal, Look at you starting a celebration in May not knowing it was in fact a thing at one time. It certainly made me chuckle. A perfect card for our colors and wonderfully done! Thanks for playing at Color Hues.
Thanks so much Nancy! ๐
