Hello! I can’t believe it’s already the last week of July, and my final week as this month’s guest designer at CC&S! 😱😱 This has been ENORMOUS fun and I’m so grateful for the chance to join the amazing design team for a little while. Thanks again Patricia and all the other designers for inviting me!! ❤️

This week we have a sketch challenge:

I decided to rotate the sketch 90 degrees clockwise and create a horizontal card.

The star shape reminded my of the sun, so I used the stripe pattern in a more abstract way, and created a cloudy sky!

First, I created a circle mask from a full sticky note using a circle die, and saved the remaining sticky note as a stencil for the next stage. I then applied Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink over a cloud stencil from Simon Says Stamp, to create the clouds.

Once the clouds were ready, I removed the circle mask and created the sunrays with the Radiating Rays stencil from My Favorite Things. (By the way, I used the same stencils two months ago to create a different card, click here to find all the details!)

Finally, I used the circle stencil that I made from the sticky note, and filled the inside of the sun.

I added a sentiment from the Just Miss You stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, and a few clear Nuvo Drops, and my card was ready! 🙂

Like I said, this month has been huge fun, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity! I guess you’ll see me next week as a participant in the next challenge… 😇
