Hello! Today I’m joining the latest challenge at Color Hues, with a cute triangle heart card! ❤️

The color combo is red and kraft: ❤️🤎

At first I didn’t know what to do with this combo, so I went looking for some inspiration on Pinterest. I’ve found so many beautiful quilt patterns in these colors, and wanted to try and create my own quilt pattern 🙂

First of all, here’s my card:

I used the Triangle Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th, and stamped it with four different red Distress Oxide inks: Fired Brick, Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Crackling Campfire. I love the gradation of colors – from dark red to almost pink, and then to orange-red.

Once my pattern was done, I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″, and die cut a large heart slightly above the center. Unfortunately, when I tried to peel off the tape that I used to keep the die in place, it tore the panel in a few places… 😭😭 Next time I will use a different paper, it’s not the first time that it happened with this specific brand 🙁

I added the panel to a kraft card base, and stamped a nice little sentiment from All the Birthdays stamp set from Concord & 9th:

In that photo you can really see the tears from the tape 😢 But, even with that crafty disaster, I’m really liking this “triangle heart” card. It’s been a while since I played with turnabout stamps, I forgot how fun they are! I’m going to try this idea again soon, with different colors (and of course, a different paper…).
