Hi friends, today I’m sharing a special card that I made for the Cards for Ukraine initiative 💙💛

Honestly, I wasn’t in creative mood since the war started. 😓 But when Jennifer McGuire (and other crafters) started the Cards for Ukraine initiative, I knew I wanted to participate. If you haven’t watched Jennifer’s crafty chat about “crafting therapy”, I highly recommend it.
Here’s my card:

I started by making the Ukrainian flag on the background. I used two colors of Distress Oxide inks: Broken China and Squeezed Lemonade. To mask each half, I used a wide strip of Gina K. Designs Masking Magic.
Then, I used the Friendly Silhouettes stamp set and the matching Master Layouts 9 die set from Gina K. Designs. I die cut the shadow from vellum and added the large “friend” in white. I used it as a guide to position the stamp, and then heat embossed it in white.
For some shine, I added Glossy Accents on the “friend” and added some clear round drops:

I’m submitting my card to the special challenge at Color Hues, that supports the Cards for Ukraine initiative:
I’ll also submit it to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – “Add a Die Cut”.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! For updates about new posts, please follow me on Instagram and Pinterest.
Let’s pray together for peace 🙏🙏
– Michal
